What bAInk does
bAInk reads your business bank accounts, sends every booked transaction to your ERP or financial system exactly once, and shows you where your cash went. You decide which account feeds which ledger, and how often.
-
Connect your bank
Enter the API credentials your bank issued. bAInk tests them against a day of real history before it saves anything.
-
Pair it with your books
Choose which bank account sends to which account in your ERP. The choices come from a live test of your system, so they’re always real.
-
Let it run
Every 15 minutes, hourly, daily or weekly, on Johannesburg time. Each transaction is delivered once, and you can run a sync whenever you like.
- Reports
- Income and payments, cash-basis profit and loss, trends, highs and lows, and your top payers and payees, all in each account’s own currency.
- Statements
- Download a statement or a CSV for any period, sealed so it can’t change afterwards.
- Your team
- Invite colleagues with the role they need. Sensitive role changes need a second person to approve.
- Developers
- An API with scoped keys and signed webhooks, for your own tools.
Banks and ERP systems
bAInk talks to your bank and your ERP or financial system directly, using their own APIs.

Credentials are sealed the moment bAInk receives them, and only the service that calls your bank can open them. You can replace them at any time, but no one can read them back, not even you.
JAI, your assistant that never touches the money
bAInk does the arithmetic. JAI explains it, spots what looks unusual, and answers your questions. Before anything reaches an AI model, bAInk’s privacy gateway replaces names and account numbers with stable stand-ins, and only you see them restored.
What JAI does
- Ask JAI
- Ask about your cash in plain language: “Who did we pay most last month?”
- Findings
- Patterns worth a look: an unusual amount, a burst of payments, a new payee with a large first payment.
- A second opinion on alerts
- When monitoring raises an alert, JAI adds a view: probably fine, worth a look, or looks suspicious.
- Daily digest
- A short morning summary of yesterday’s alerts and anything that needs you.
What it can’t do
- Create, change or approve a payment. Its tools only read.
- See more than your organisation allows. Choose full, pseudonymised or totals-only.
- Work unseen. Every question is recorded, without the content unless you choose otherwise.
Bring your own provider (Claude, ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI or a self-hosted model) or use JAI, hosted in South Africa.
Security is not a feature. It’s the foundation.
Each promise below is enforced by how bAInk is built, not by a setting someone could switch off.
- Two-step sign-in, always
- Everyone signs in with a password and an authenticator app. There’s no way to skip it.
- Your data stays yours
- The database itself keeps each organisation’s records apart, so one organisation can never read another’s.
- Credentials sealed on arrival
- Bank and ERP credentials are encrypted with modern hybrid encryption, including a post-quantum algorithm, and are never shown again.
- Keys kept in a vault
- Stored secrets are encrypted with keys that are themselves encrypted, so a copied database is useless on its own.
- Payments need people
- Approvals are tied to the exact payment content, and the person who creates a payment can’t approve it.
- A record you can trust
- The audit trail is chained, so any change to past entries shows.
- Exact to the cent
- Amounts are stored as whole cents in their own currency, never rounded and never converted.
- Messages you opted into
- SMS and WhatsApp alerts are sent only after you verify your number and opt in.
Payments and alerts
Payments, with approvals that fit
Pay suppliers from bAInk with approval rules by amount: up to five approvers per band, and an Owner can approve alone where you allow it. Live payments stay off until an Owner switches them on for each account, typing the account’s last four digits to confirm.
Alerts when something looks off
bAInk learns your usual payments and receipts and tells you when one is late, missing or a different amount, when a supplier’s bank details change, or when a payment looks split, duplicated or out of pattern. Alerts arrive in the app, by email, SMS or WhatsApp. They inform; they never block or move money.
Who it’s for
- Business owners
- See money in and out across your banks without logging in to each one.
- Finance teams
- Stop retyping bank lines. Reconcile from transactions that are already in your books.
- Bookkeepers
- Work from one record of what the bank booked, with exports when you need them.
Questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. bAInk connects to your bank and your ERP or financial system through their own APIs. There is nothing extra to install.
Which banks and ERP systems work today?
FNB and Investec for banking, and Zoho Books and Odoo 17 to 19 as ERP systems. Xero and Sage 200 Evolution are coming.
Can bAInk move money on its own?
No. Payments need the approvals you set, and live payments must be switched on for each account by an Owner. Neither JAI nor the alerts can create or approve a payment.
What does the AI see?
Only what your organisation allows: full detail, stand-ins for names and account numbers, or totals only. You can also turn JAI off entirely.
How do I get started?
Register your organisation with its name and your email, verify your email, set up your authenticator app, and connect your first bank.
